MIKIO SUZUKI is a contemporary artist born in 1957 in a Japanese restaurant in Gifu Prefecture. . His parents were busy during his childhood, so he grew up among geishas. He was strongly influenced by his father, who aspired to be a photographer while inheriting a Japanese restaurant, and his mother, a Hanamichi master. After graduating from university, while continuing to work as a writer, he worked at an advertising agency doing art direction, corporate branding, and film direction. After becoming independent, he launched an apparel brand and worked as a fashion designer for four brands. His work is unique, moving between commercial design, fashion, and art. MIKIO SUZUKI’s works express an original worldview in which he deconstructs objects and reconstructs them from his perspective and concept.

MIKIO SUZUKIは1957年岐阜県の料亭に生まれた現代アート作家である。。幼少期は両親が多忙だった為、芸者達のの中で育つ。料亭を継ぎながら写真家を目指していた父と花道師範の母の影響を強く受ける。大学卒業後は作家活動を続けながら広告代理店にてアートディレクション、企業のブランディング、フィルムディレクションを手掛ける。独立後アパレルブランドを立ち上げ、現在４ブランドのファッションデザイナーを務める。彼の作品は商業デザイン、フアッション、アートを行き来する独自的なもので有る。MIKIO SUZUKIの作品は対象を分解し、彼の視点、コンセプトで再構築してゆく独創的な世界観を表現している。
